MID-VALLEY ORTHOPEDICS

Mid-Valley Hospital & Clinic’s orthopedic surgeons and orthopedic physician assistants are educated in the working of the body’s muscles and skeleton, including the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves. There are 206 bones and 640 muscles in the human body, but in order to work properly, they need the support of our ligaments, tendons and cartilage. Motion requires collaboration, and even the smallest action – such as lifting a fork or taking a step – requires all of these parts to work together. Mid-Valley offers seamless care whether you have a sports-related injury, a broken bone or the need to replace a joint damaged from disease.

Whether you recently experienced an orthopedic injury or fracture needing repair, or have impaired mobility needing arthroscopic surgery up to and including joint replacement, our skilled orthopedic surgeons are here to serve you and get you back in the game.

If you’re scheduled for surgery or even a minor procedure, a COVID-19 test is required. Why?

The short answer is to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to maintain the health and safety of our patients, providers and staff. We are making every effort to stop the spread. Viruses, particularly those as virulent as coronavirus, can also complicate recovery. Older or at-risk patients may be asked to postpone a procedure until they are well or there is less risk from COVID-19 in the community.

Mid-Valley Hospital & Clinic requires that all patients get tested before all procedures, including but not limited to, general surgery; orthopedics; gynecology; and pain management. Some procedures and pre-operative tests also require the test.

If you test positive, you may be asked to reschedule your surgery, procedure or pre-operative test. A positive COVID-19 test however, does not automatically mean you can’t schedule a procedure at Mid-Valley Hospital & Clinic. Please speak with your provider about any possible exceptions. When scheduling your surgery, understand there is a timeline to follow. Test results must be available to your physician before your surgery. Speak with your provider or surgical team to make plans for your COVID-19 test. We also understand that the needs of every patient is different and we are here to work with you to diminish inconveniences and/or discomfort involved with testing.
